The 50-mile race was designed with riders in mind who are looking for a challenging race but may not be ready to tackle the full 100-mile course just yet. Additionally, this race is an excellent option for e-bike owners who want to complete the distance without having to change their battery along the way.

Starting from Highgate Ostrich Show Farm, participants will join the 100-mile race. The route will take you through beautiful farmland and rolling hills towards the first water point.

From Zebra, you will make your way towards Herold, a small village nestled in the foothills of the Outeniqua Mountains.

Another spectacular landmark awaits as you turn south, riding through the beautiful Ezeljagspoort towards the northern foothills of the Outeniqua mountains. Traversing Ezeljacht farm with its flat, fast roads and tight turns, you’ll reach Louvain, our finish venue for 2024.

There, you’ll be greeted by a festive atmosphere as fellow riders, spectators, and supporters come together to celebrate the race’s triumphant conclusion.

Prince George 100 Miler

The 100 mile race begins in the charming town of Prince Albert, nestled in the heart of the Great Karoo at the base of the majestic Swartberg Mountain range. The challenging course starts with a 20km climb from the Northern side of the Swartberg Mountain, the highest mountain range in the Western Cape with a peak elevation of nearly 3000m. The Swartberg Mountain Range is a National Monument and boasts a UNESCO World Heritage site status, showcasing an unusual geology, including the famous Wall of Fire cliff face.

After conquering the majestic Swartberg, you’ll be rewarded with a thrilling descent that unveils panoramic views over the Klein Karoo, leading you to the first water point at Kobus se Gat. The course then weaves through the enchanting Klein Karoo, highlighting iconic destinations like Matjiesvlei, Wildehondekloof, and Grundheim, where you can fully immerse yourself in the region’s stunning landscapes.

The halfway mark of the race is at Highgate Ostrich Show Farm, offering a well-deserved break and a chance to refuel before continuing your adventure. The route takes you through picturesque farmland and rolling hills towards your third water point at Zebra, heading east towards the Langkloof.
